At the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2015l held in Akihabara, Tokyo on Oct. 4 an event related to the TV anime adaptation of Netoge no Yome wa Onna no Ko Janai to Omotta? titled “Netoge Yome Autumn Lecture” was held.
Netoge no Yome wa Onna no Ko Janai to Omotta? (Shibai Kineko/Kadokawa) centers around Hideki Nishimura (Lucian) who confesses his love to an online gaming partner he thought was a girl but turned out not to be and now carries this dark secret with him. The main heroine is Ako Tamaki (actually a girl) who confesses her love to Hideki in an online game but has trouble telling online life and reality apart. The story unfolds with these two characters at the centre and unfortunately their fun everyday lives equal internet gaming.
Toshiyuki Toyonaga who plays Hideki Nishimura, Rina Hidaka who plays Ako Takimaki, Inori Minase who plays Akane Segawa (Schwein), and M.A.O who plays Kyo Goshouin (Apricot) were all present on stage when the event opened. Screens were also set up on the stage to display a discussion with the production team.
After the cast finished their greetings on the stage the event hall really began to heat up - to the first segment! At the “Netoge no Yome - Fundamental Lecture” segment, the show’s contents, characters and even a brand new just finished visual were all unveiled.
In each character’s introduction, the cast recited some of their character’s famous speeches in a “just like that!” kind of way. Schwien’s “Otaku are disgusting though” line filled the venue with delighted voices from all over so it was a great climax to the event.
Next, the “Netoge no Yome One Point Lecture.” In this segment, messages previously collected from fans describing Netoge no Yome’s appeal were read out, all of which were stuffed full of love for the story and characters. Also, in the “Things you want to tell people who don’t know about Netoge no Yome! Look over here for Netoge no Yome!” segment words of wisdom tumbled out one after the other and the cast raved about it too.
After that, even more new information was read out including the release date of the 9th volume (LV.9) of the original Netoge no Yome wa Onna no Ko Janai to Omotta? light novel scheduled for Dec. 10, 2015. Finally, the cast each gave their closing addresses one by one and much to fan’s disappointment, the stage event was concluded.
