Elecom will release in late October the “Criminal Tracking Glasses” seen in the popular anime and manga Detective Conan!
You may be thinking, “I want it!”...but unfortunately the glasses are for kids, and there won’t be any “big kid” sizes released.
The glasses faithfully replica Conan’s “Criminal Tracking Glasses.” And of course, there’s an antenna attached. It seems the antenna can be moved up and down by turning the dial on the left temple of the glasses. With the antenna up, you’ll feel just like Conan! You can choose mom or dad to be the criminal and have fun tracking them through the house too! Though the design looks just like the glasses from the series, remember: you can’t communicate using the glasses or actually track criminals with them.
To make the glasses lightweight they feature plastic lenses and TR-90, a highly lightweight, flexible material developed by Swiss EMS, is used for the frame, making them tough to wear out, even for kids.
The lenses come in three varieties, each of which cut out a certain percentage of blue light: clear lenses (cut approx. 36%), brown lenses (cut approx. 50%), and “map (mirror) lenses” (cut approx. 70%) which feature a tracking map on the surface of the left lens. The lenses also cut 99% of UV light. These will no doubt be priceless for when you want to play outside but are worried about the sun.
The glasses come in an original case with an illustrated print of Conan, and all three models are open price. Check with specific retailers for actual pricing.
