The “Pokémon Research Lab - Now You Can Do It Too! A New Discovery” exhibition will be held at Miraikan from July 8 to Oct. 12, 2015. Themed around popular Pokémon characters, this exhibition is a little different as the event will be modelled on the Pokémon Research Lab.
You’ll be able to experience the processes of scientific research through the observation and analysis of Pokémon. Just right for the summer, children will be able to experience for themselves the wonder and discoveries of scientific research. You’ll even receive a Pokémon you can actually use in the game - so much to enjoy!
The Pokémon Research Lab will be a scientific attraction where visitors will become a researcher for the day and get to experience three different laboratories. Firstly, in “Lab 1 - Mission from the Professor” a Pokémon observation machine will be set up for the purpose of investigating a Pokémon’s special qualities. By analysing the Pokémon inside the Monster Ball you’ve been given with the Pokémon observation machine you’ll be able to determine its true form. Based on the results of observing the Pokémon’s silhouette, footprints, and characteristics you’ll find your answers.
There are a total of three different balls divided by levels of difficulty - the Monster Ball, Super Ball and the Hyper Ball. Kids, of course, as well as fans in their 20s who loved Pokémon when they were younger, and even older people too - a wide range of generations will be able to enjoy this area. Furthermore, those who undertake the mission challenge will be given their choice of Pokémon from a Bulbasaur, Charmander, or a Squirtle.
In “Lab 2 - Pokémon Collection Room” are more than 700 types of Pokémon discovered up to now. You can study their diversity by analysing the Pokémon from various angles. In the Workshop Area, you can use the analysed Pokémon as a hint to challenge yourself to create your own unique Pokémon group. Being able to capture the special qualities of the Pokémon from an unrestricted perspective is an important element of this room.
The details of “Lab 3 - You can Make New Discoveries Too!” haven’t been announced yet, so you’ll just have to look forward to it, but in here you’ll get to understand real examples of actual scientific processes and the observations and analyses you’ve made so far.
There will also be a gift shop on site where you’ll be able to get your hands on some original goods that you’ll only find here. This is an exhibition Pokémon fans and pretty much anyone will be sure to enjoy!
