Kitan Club, well-known makers of highly imaginative products like Fuchico on the Cup, are releasing yet another product overflowing with unique charm. The company has collaborated with Pokémon in the Putitto series of figures of various characters that you can hang from the edge of your cup.
Now Pikachu, a particularly popular character in the Pokémon series, is getting in on this action. Putitto Pikachu will be released to gatcha machines in mid-June. The lineup includes six versions including one secret version, and each one costs 300 yen (tax included).
The Putitto series is a fresh figure series themed after figures that “you can set on the rim of your cup” that depict various situations. The secret to the series’ success is the abundantly unique posing that exceeds expectations of unexpected scenes that take place in the confined space that is the rim of a cup. Though the figures are only a few centimeters tall, they have a high quality sculpt despite their small size. Many collaborations between this series and popular characters and anime have taken place to date. Yui from K-On!, the fleet girls from KanColle, and even Funyassi have joined the cup rim revolution, each becoming a hot topic.
The collaboration this time is with Pikachu, a character from Pokémon, a shining example of Japanese animation, who has always been popular in Japan and is even well known overseas. Many fans’ hearts will surely be snatched away by Pikachu’s charming poses. The poses include Pikachu hanging, resting, upside down, balancing Pokéballs on his head, and dozing over the edge. We can’t wait to see what the secret Pikachu looks like.
