To promote the release of the new game Dragon Quest Heroes: Yamiryuu to Sekaiju no Shiro, for a 1-week period between Feb. 23 and March 1, a poster with the theme “Battle to Defeat the 100,000 Slimes in Shinjuku” was unveiled within Shinjuku Station of the Tokyo metro.
The poster consists of approximately 100,000 Slimes lined up in rows on a massive stretch of bubble wrap across a wall which spans about 80 meters from the east to west exit of the metro station. It is designed so that, as passers-by listen to the playing music, from the familiar overture of the Dragon Quest series to the battle themes from Dragon Quest I–IX, anyone is able to challenge and defeat the Slimes by popping and deflating them. If all the Slimes are defeated by the last day of the campaign, a Dragon Quest Heroes original wallpaper for smartphones will be uploaded to the campaign website as a present, accessible to all.
