After 12 years, a new series of the popular shoujo manga Boys Over Flowers titled Boys Over Flowers Season 2 (Hana Nochi Hare ~ Hanadan Next Season) was announced to start serialization in the manga magazine application Shonen Jump + from Feb. 15. In accordance with this new announcement, Shonen Jump + also started distributing all volumes of Boys Over Flowers free of charge from Feb. 10. This is a limited time offer. The series can be accessed until 8:00 a.m. Feb. 15.
Boys Over Flowers is a shoujo manga by Yoko Kamio that was serialized in Shueisha’s Margaret between 1992 and 2003. The total number of volumes published exceeds 61 million and its anime and live-action drama adaptation received favorable reviews as well. It is a huge hit popular throughout the world, supported by the fact that even Taiwan and South Korea made a live-action drama of the series alongside the Japanese adaptation. Boys Over Flowers Season 2 closes up a hiatus of approximately 12 years in the Boys Over Flowers series. The story takes place at Eitoku Academy two years after the bishounen quartet F4 graduated. Readers can expect a love comedy revolving around a new generation of characters.
The first chapter, set to release on Feb. 15 on Shonen Jump +, comes in a great volume of 64 pages including color pages. It will be released bi-weekly following the first chapter. Moreover, Viz Media is releasing an English version in English-speaking countries and regions––with North America at the center––under the name Boys Over Flowers Season 2 on its website Viz Manga (vizmanga.com) simultaneously with its Japanese counterpart. The first four chapters will also be featured on the online digital magazine Weekly Shonen Jump (shonenjump.viz.com). There will also be developments in South Korea and China, where the original series was very popular. These versions will be released in the near future.
