PV to ‘Persona 3 the Movie #3’ Has Been Released, Ryoji Mochizuki, the Key to the Story, Also Appears

A new key visual and PV have been released for Part 3 of the Persona 3 movie, Persona 3 the Movie #3: Falling Down, set to open in theaters on April 4. The key visual shows in the background Tartarus looming in the darkness with the characters expressing melancholic looks. The death of friends and family, discord over why they fight...the visual brings to mind such memories.

The new PV, available on the movie’s official site, also shows for the first time a new character who holds the key to the second half of the story: Ryoji Mochizuki.

Persona 3 the Movie is an anime adaptation based on the popular game Persona 3. The original game was released on the PlayStation 2 in July 2006, and even now it is immensely popular. Persona 4, also developed by studio Atlus, was adapted into a TV anime in 2011, and Part 1 of the movie adaptation released in 2013.

The movie to be released on April 4 is Part 3 of the Persona 3 movie adaptation. In Part 1, Makoto Yuki gains Persona abilities after being attacked by grotesque monsters called Shadows, and he battles Shadows while strengthening bonds with his friends. In Part 2, the season changes from spring to summer, and we meet new characters including Aegis and Amada while a new battle unfolds for Makoto and the rest. In Part 3, the season will change to autumn and we’ll be introduced to the key to the second half of the story: Ryoji Mochizuki. New developments in the story are on the way.

In other news, Persona 3 the Movie #2: Midsummer Knight’s Dream will be released on Blu-ray & DVD on Wednesday, March 11. Both versions will include a director’s cut of the film that includes approximately 4 minutes of additional, never-before-seen content. If that weren’t enough, the pre-order-only limited edition is filled with bonuses including a soundtrack CD, a tri-fold box featuring exclusive artwork, Super P3 stickers which were given out to moviegoers when the movie was screening in theaters, and more. This is, of course, worth a buy as a collector’s item as well as to watch in preparation for the release of Part 3.
