Title of the 2015 Summer ‘Pokémon’ Movie Announced - ‘Pokémon the Movie XY:The Archdjinn of Rings: Hoopa’

It has been announced that the newest Pokémon movie that releases on July 18 (Sun.) in Japan will be titled Pokémon the Movie XY: Ringu no Choumajin Fuupa (The Archdjinn of Rings: Hoopa). A new Pokémon movie has released every years since 1998, making this the 18th in the line. The “Hoopa” in the title is the name of a new Mythical Pokémon appearing in the movie. The screen will be lively with all kinds of Pokémon this summer, too.

Hoopa has a naughty nature, and belongs to the Psychic/Dark type. His specialty lies in the Magician ability. Besides Hoopa, only a few Pokémon have this ability: Fennekin and its evolved forms and Klefki.

Among the revealed visuals, there is one on which Ash and Pikachu stare at Hoopa with a surprised expression, while on the other, they are merrily eating doughnuts. We can’t wait to see what kind of story will unfold.

At the same time as the new movie’s release, Pokémon the Movie XY: Pikachu and the Pokémon Musicians will also be screened, allowing viewers to enjoy the performance of cute Pokémon again. It is scheduled to release on July 18 (Sat.). We will know more from future announcements.

The TV anime Pokémon began in 1997, and with the release of games, the series is changing. Pokémon XY has been broadcasting since 2013, starting simultaneously with the release of the 3DS games Pokémon X & Y. Besides featuring already familiar characters such as the protagonists Ash and Pikachu, the movie also introduces the heroine Serena and gym leader Clemont.
