Model and figure maker Kotobukiya will release in May 2015 the plastic model “Eva Unit-13 Pseudo-Evolution No. 3+ Phase (Estimated).” This Eva appeared in Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, and grabbed the spotlight. Many Eva plastic models have been released, but this release is a first for this phase of Eva.

Similar to other figures in the same series, “Eva Unit-13 Pseudo-Evolution No. 3+ Phase (Estimated)” is 1/400th scale. Highlights of the figure include its precise joints parts designed with CAD and the refined form of its sculp created by the hands of the sculptors. The mouth is moveable, so no need to switch out face parts. Its four-armed form can also be shown using the interchangeable parts. The front of the thigh and kneecap move together, and the throat moves together with the head when you move it to look up; the sculp is intricate down to the tiniest details.

The wealth of included items is also a selling point. In addition to the main two lances, the figure comes with a flying base, base for the halo support parts that connect to the flying base, additional arm parts, halo support parts, halo, joint parts for recreating the converged lance, and rear support parts for the flying base. With all these parts, fans can no doubt enjoy this model in many poses. Furthermore, the converged lance can be created by using the handles from the two lances’ joint parts. And painting reproduces the Pseudo-Evolution No. 3+ Phase eyes and the normal eyes.

“Eva Unit-13 Pseudo-Evolution No. 3+ Phase (Estimated)” is 190 millimeters tall, and in charge of the sculp are Yuichi Kuwamura, Shohei Chiba, and Yasutomo Shimizu. The model is priced at 9,800 yen (plus tax). There are tons of prototype pictures published on the introduction webpage to the model, and this perfectionism has made this an anticipated item.
