The TV anime series of Hirohiko Araki’s bestselling manga JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure that re-depicts the series from the first volume is entering a new adventure beginning in 2015. The second arc of the third part of the anime adaptation, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, will begin broadcasting in January 2015. The first broadcast will begin at 24:30 on Jan. 9, 2015 on Tokyo MX. Other networks include MBS, CBC TV, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, Tohoku Broadcasting, BS11, and Animax. It will be viewable in a wide range of areas throughout Japan.
This new anime takes on the title JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders - Egypt Arc. Jotaro Kujo heads to Egypt along with his grandfather Joseph and friends to save his mother Holly who is stricken with a curse by his longtime enemy and relative, DIO. At long last, he finally lands in Egypt. There, a new battle will begin.
The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure TV anime series was first broadcast for half a year beginning in October 2010. At that time, Part 1 Phantom Blood and Part 2 Battle Tendency were animated. Popularity for the series then spurred on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders which began earlier this year in April. Being that the arc is so rich in volume, the journey leading up to Egypt was depicted over a full two seasons, from April to October. It seems after a three-month break the third season will finally depict the climax of Part 3.
Also, at the same time the announcement came regarding the broadcast start date, a new key visual and new opening theme were released as well. They give off the feeling that a new journey will begin in 2015.
The opening theme song is “JoJo Sono Chi no Kiroku - End of the World.” The song was composed by Kohei Tanaka with lyrics by Shoko Fujibayashi. This is the revival of the hugely talked-about combination from the theme song to Part 1 Phantom Blood, “JoJo Sono Chi no Unmei.”
A CD release of the theme song has also been confirmed for Jan. 28, 2015, but the artist singing the song is unknown. It seems this announcement will be something else to look forward to.
