The on-air schedule for the TV anime Death Parade has been confirmed. The broadcast will begin on Jan. 9, 2015 on Nippon TV and other networks. Along with this news, a key visual, character art, and event information was also released. The official site has also fully opened, and things are picking up with the broadcast on the way.
The first broadcast will be on Nippon TV on Jan. 9. After that, it will broadcast on Sun TV on Jan. 13 and AT-X on Jan. 22. It will be available online beginning Jan. 10 on Niconico Live. With distribution through Hulu and NTV On Demand also planned, it seems viewers will be able to enjoy the series through a wide range of media.
The key visual largely shows main character Dekim. We wonder what kind of story will unfold with he who rules over the dead at Queen Dekim, a mysterious bar at which the souls of humans gather.
In addition to Dekim, the character art shows three other characters: Black-Haired Woman, a clerk who works at Queen Dekim; Nona, who manages each floor and its ruler; and Ginty, the rough-natured ruler of Floor 15.
In other news, an advance screening will take place at Cinemart Shinjuku on Sunday, Dec. 28. In addition to director Yuzuru Tachikawa, Tomoaki Maeno (Dekim), Asami Seto (Black-Haired Woman), and Rumi Okubo (Nona) will be onstage at the event. Advance tickets are on sale now on E-Plus. Tickets cost 2,000 yen (tax included).
Death Parade is a TV anime series based on a short called “Death Billiard” that was a portion of 2013’s Anime Mirai. Anime Mirai is a project for training up young animators comprised of short anime made over a four-year period from 2010-2014. The upcoming TV anime is a first for the series.
