With the serialization start of Hell Teacher Nube Neo this past spring and a live-action drama to begin airing on Nippon TV on Oct. 11 starring Kanjani Eight’s Ryuhei Maruyama, Hell Teacher Nube is hot right now. The first volume of Hell Teacher Nube Neo was also finally released on Oct. 3.
Meanwhile, Issue 21 of Grand Jump (Shueisha) released on Oct. 1 features a special on the Nube live-action drama. The special is comprised of a manga and article and spans 38 pages. This is an issue that Nube fans shouldn’t miss.
Issue 21 starts off with Hell Teacher Nube Neo, which spans 29 pages. A point to pay attention to is that actor Ryuhei Maruyama who plays Nube aka Meisuke Nueno in the live-action drama will appear in the manga. Many fans are curious as to how Ryuhei will be portrayed in the manga.
The special article is fun right off the bat with “*Hell Teacher Nube* Easter.” There are also comments and illustrations specially contributed by manga artists influenced by the series. These include Attack on Titan’s Hajime Isayama, My Love Story!!’s Aruko, Tokyo Ghoul’s Sui Ishida, Terra Formars’ Yu Sasuga and Kenichi Tachibana, and Assassination Classroom’s Yusei Matsui. Each one draws and talks about their memories of the series’ characters and episodes. There is also an interview with Ryuhei Maruyama and a relationship chart of the main cast, so fans can enjoy Hell Teacher Nube in a variety of ways. The special is also perfect for preparing for the live-action drama which also stars Mirei Kiritani and Mokomichi Hayami.
In Hell Teacher Nube, elementary school teacher Nube, who possesses the Demon Hand, works to solve incidents involving youkai and ghosts. The work was serialized from 1993-1999 in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) and became greatly popular with children. The anime produced by Toei Doga (currently Toei Animation) broadcast from 1996-1997. This as well became popular. Now, 20 years after its creation, the work is gathering attention yet again.
