Digimon Card Game Reissue Set Announced, Includes Selection of 162 Best Cards from the Series

Since the TV anime in 1999, Digimon Adventure has been developed into several series, and the franchise reached its 15th anniversary this year. In sync with this, an anniversary project has started, and several plans are in motion. A new anime starring as the main character a 17-year-old Taichi Yagami will also begin in spring 2015, which will bring huge excitement to the series.

Meanwhile, products from a project looking back at the history of the Digimon trading card game will be released in January. Premium Bandai will begin accepting pre-orders on Sept. 18 for a product themed after the Digimon Adventure anime, the “Digital Monster Card Game Returns: Digimon Adventure 15th Anniversary Set.” This commemorative product will be a gorgeous reprint.

The Digital Monster Card Game was sold from 1999-2005. It created a huge boom for working together with the Digivice and more. This will be a nostalgic item for all those long ago kids who enjoyed the game when it first came out. The total amount of cards that appear in the series is 2,500. The set will cost 14,580 JPY excluding tax and it will have an age rating of 15 years and older.

The set will include 162 cards from the series. It will come with 13 gold etching cards, 9 silver etching cards, 21 holographic cards, 5 foil cards, and 114 normal cards all tucked into a deluxe binder. Only the very best cards from the history of the Digital Monster Card Game series have been selected for this set. The set is a reissue of select Digimon and item cards. It will likely be deeply moving to fans, especially those who wanted certain cards when they were on sale but couldn’t get their hands on them.

In addition, there will also be new cards created just for the set by the official illustrators of the Digimon series as well as new cards of recent Digimon that have never been made into cards until now. Through this set, fans are likely to look back at the world and card game of this dear series.
