The TV anime Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei began its broadcast in July and ended with its final episode, Episode 10, on Sept. 10. The work is based on the world of Fate/stay night and follows Illya, who has become a magical girl. The show brought excitement to the anime scene in July, and a big announcement for the series was made during the final episode. Production on a sequel titled Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei Herz! has been greenlit and the anime will broadcast next year. The “Herz” in the title is the German word for “heart.” What kind of adventures will Illya and the others get into this time? This announcement will make fans’ anticipation swell.
In other news, though the TV broadcast of the first season of Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya has ended, developments are continuing. The first is the Volume 1 Blu-ray and DVD that will be released on Sept. 26. A highlight is the all-new short anime “First Bra Illya Ver.” included as a video bonus. The scenario behind “First Bra Illya Ver.” was completely supervised by author Hiroshi Hiroyama, and the episode revolves around Illya trying on bras for the first time. New anime will be included in each volume, so take notice of the content of forthcoming volumes.
Also included with the Volume 1 Blu-ray and DVD will be a color illustration collection called Prisma Illya Visual Material. This is a gorgeous collection features a great volume of Hiroyama’s original artwork. The audio commentary is titled “Prisma Illya 2wei! Girls Meeting” and it features Mai Kadowaki, Chiwa Saito, and Naoko Takano. It comes in a clear case DigiPak illustrated just for the occasion by character designer Nozomi Ushijima. Pricing is as follows: 7,600 yen for the Blu-ray, 6,600 yen for the limited edition DVD, and 5,600 yen for the regular edition DVD (All prices exclude tax.).
The Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya series is based on a manga of the same name that has been serializing in Monthly Comp-Ace (Kadokawa) since 2007. It gathered popularity for being a spin-off of the Fate/stay night series.
