Fashion doll brand Pullip is continuously releasing series in collaboration with anime. This time, we are going to introduce Sailor Mercury, second in the series after Sailor Moon, from the popular new anime Sailor Moon Crystal distributed through Niconico Douga. Although it is planned to release only at the end of September, Tokyo Otaku Mode managed to snap a few shots of Mercury. Feel free to enjoy her glamorous beauty!
Ami Mizuno, also known as Sailor Mercury, is a Sailor Scout who uses water as her weapon in fights. She has a quiet personality and the brains of a genius. Her task among the Inner Scouts of the Solar System is information gathering, and she also acts as the brain of the group. Her Pullip doll shows a certain attention to her intellectual side.
Mercury’s characteristic, short-cut blue hairstyle is accurately reproduced in the image of the anime. Her eyes show a beautiful contrast between the large, black pupils and the surrounding blue. This doll reflects Mercury’s pure image in a unique Pullip format, which can be seen in her bashful smile and elegant makeup. Her costume is also minutely made. Check out the beautiful crystals on her tiara and ribbon, the neck of her sailor blouse, or the texture of the leather of her skirt!

These shots depict the friendship of the two Sailor Scouts through Pullip dolls. You can see their resolve to support each other from the way they glance behind their backs. In the TV anime adaptation, Mercury is Sailor Moon’s first partner. The quiet Mercury admires the cheerful, optimistic Sailor Moon, and regards her as an important friend.
“Pullip: Sailor Mercury” is scheduled to release at the end of September. As Pullips are manufactured in a limited quantity, it is advisable to ask around at hobby shops that handle Pullips or special doll shops and place a reservation beforehand. Don’t miss the chance to recreate all the famous scenes, such as her special move “Sabão Spray”!
