Attack on Titan and KanColle Figures Available for Pre-Order Aug. 28!

Good Smile Company has supported Japan’s proud hobby scene by broadcasting the latest on hobby culture and even through its participation in Super GT racing events. The company has just begun their most recent venture, a series of top-quality figures called the Wonderful Hobby Selection.

The honorary first set of items to be released includes a figure by sculptor Takayuki Takeya of the gigantic 60-meter-tall Colossal Titan from the Attack on Titan anime series, as well as a precisely crafted and fully armored figure of Yamato Kai, based on the popular Kantai Collection browser game character’s official illustration. Both figures will be available from Max Factory. These first two figures will be available for pre-order from the Good Smile Company Online Shop starting Aug. 28.

Takayuki Takeya’s Big Scale Colossal Titan!
The first official figure in Good Smile Company’s Wonderful Hobby Selection lineup is Attack on Titan’s Colossal Titan, designed by Takayuki Takeya.

Polystone was used to create a precise model that would maintain the correct texture and sense of size, and the result is nothing short of a work of art - an intense and massive figure to behold.

The 490-millimeter figure is literally a “colossal” work that looks ready to attack at any moment. It’s posed in such a way as to be appreciated from any angle, and the closer you look at it, the more you notice every last intricate detail of the design.

Five hundred figures will be produced worldwide, each with an engraved serial number. It’s a rare masterpiece that will only be available for a limited time.

Super Dreadnought Battleship Yamato Sets Sail on the Open Seas
The first official figure in Good Smile Company’s Wonderful Hobby Selection lineup is the “Yamato Kai: Heavy Armament Ver.” figure by Max Factory from the browser game Kantai Collection, or KanColle.

Equipped with three triple-barreled 46-centimeter guns, two triple-barreled 15.5-centimeter guns, six 12.7-centimeter anti-aircraft guns, and fully armored, this Yamato Kai is exactly like her illustration. Part of the 46-centimeter guns are moveable, and the flower-petal covered water surface can be removed, so you can enjoy a different view of Yamato as she takes a relaxing break from floating on the salty seas.
