Ayuko Hatta’s popular manga Okami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji that is currently serializing in the shoujo manga magazine Bessatsu Margaret is becoming a TV anime. Following the announcement of this anime adaptation, the broadcast channels of this anticipated work have now been announced. The anime will begin broadcasting this October on Tokyo MX, Yomiuri TV, Chukyu TV, BS11, and other networks. It seems viewers from all over the country will be able to watch it.
Also, along with the broadcast announcement a new key visual has been released showing a full shot of Kyouya Sata aka Kuro Ouji (Black Prince). The visual’s catch phrase, “Starting today, you’re my dog,” shows Sata’s cynical and sadistic side. Also released is a full-color character setting illustration that shows Sata, who is played by Takahiro Sakurai, and Erika, who is played by Kanae Ito. With roughly two months left until the broadcast begins, announcements are likely to continue from here on.
Okami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji tells the story of Erika, a vain high school student, and Sata, a good-looking guy at first glance who’s actually malicious and sadistic. The story is a love comedy. Erika is a boyfriend-less 16 year old who creates a fake boyfriend that she talks to her friends about out of vanity. But when her lie begins to wear thin, she makes up a new lie about her boyfriend being a good-looking guy she happened to see in town. But this guy is actually Kyouya Sata, a student going to the same school she is. Sata agrees to be Erika’s fake boyfriend, but little does she know that he’s truly a self-obsessed sadist, which is in complete opposition to his hunky appearance.
The original work is a huge hit with more than 2.5 million copies sold. Directing the anime is Kenichi Kasai who has worked on such anime as Bakuman and Major. The series composer and writer is Sawako Hirabayashi. The character designer and chief animation director is Maki Fujioka.
