World Premiere of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: SC English Dubbed Version to Be Held in Los Angeles at Anime Expo

An English dubbed version has been made of the TV anime JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, which continues to be a huge hit even in Japan. It has been announced that the world premiere of this version will be held in Los Angeles, U.S. The venue for the world premiere is Anime Expo 2014, North America’s largest Japanese anime and manga convention that is being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 3-6. Over 160,000 fans are expected to visit the event.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders is one part of the anime project for Hirohiko Araki’s popular manga JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. It began airing in April of this year as a sequel to the well-received anime adaptations of the first and second parts of the original work. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, Part 3 of the original work, is popular due to the battles between main character Jotaro Kujo and Dio, and the appearance of the Stands that are overflowing with uniqueness. The series is highly popular overseas as well, and it can be said that the English dubbed version has been long awaited.

To be screened at Anime Expo 2014 are Episodes 1-3 of this anime. The screening will be held from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. on July 5. Coming from Japan to attend the screening will be executive producer Satoshi Adachi of Shueisha, producer Ryosuke Mori, and producer Hiroyuki Omori of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. They are expected to talk about the anime. It will be curious to see what kind of reaction the anime will receive.

In recent years, progress has been made toward Japanese anime being distributed to North America at the same time they release in Japan. However, the current main trend is to watch them with English subtitles. English dubs are generally only used on big titles. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders is one of these. A reprint of the original JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga as an English version has also been decided. The series is expected to continue expanding overseas from here on.
