The first animation visual releases as the broadcast approaches!
*Assassination Classroom* specialty shop Korosensei Shop opens in Odaiba New World!
Assassination Classroom is a hugely popular work that began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2012. The 10th volume of the manga, which has over 10.1 million copies in print, will release on July 4. It is the newest work by its author, whose detailed compositions and unique worlds, seen even in his previous work Neuro: Supernatural Detective, captivate readers.
Along with Issue 31 of Weekly Shonen Jump on sale June 30 celebrating the manga’s second year of serialization, it also announces that a TV anime and movie for the manga have been greenlit. The broadcast of the TV anime will begin on Fuji TV in 2015, and the movie will also release the same year. Appointed to the role of animation director is Seiji Kishi who has worked on several big hits including Danganronpa: The Animation and Persona 4: The Animation. In charge of writing is Makoto Uezu who has a wide range of activities that include having worked on the anime Space Brothers. Appointed as character designer is Kazuaki Morita whom director Kishi believes strongly in. Creating the animation is the new studio Lerche.
A mysterious creature appears that holds the enormous power to make 70% of the moon disappear and declares, “I will destroy the world next March.” However, for some reason until then, he is put in charge of a class of third year middle school misfits, Class 3-E aka the “End Class.” To save Earth from destruction, a mission is imposed on the students of Class 3-E: By the time they graduate, they must kill the mysterious creature, Korosensei. The students run through their daily lives under such unique conditions while facing forward and maturing. The setting is novel and unique, and the cleverly kneaded story that develops has gathered overwhelming support from all kinds of readers.
The first animation key visual released this time shows Korosensei with a grin on his face though he is surrounded by countless weapons pointed straight at him. The visual is available now in Weekly Shonen Jump and on the anime’s official site!
Also, in celebration of the TV anime, a specialty shop for Assassination Classroom called Korosensei Shop will open on July 19 (Sat.) during Fuji TV’s midsummer event, Odaiba New World. In addition to selling original anime goods, the shop is preparing various events (details to be released soon). Look forward to new information as the 2015 TV anime and movie approaches!
