It was announced on June 2 that the hunting action game Toukiden: Kiwami will release in Japan on Aug. 28 of this year. New weapons, new demons, and new mitama! This extended version is expected to further develop the world of Toukiden.
Toukiden: Kiwami was first announced in June 2013 and is a sequel to the huge hit hunting action game Toukiden. In charge of this sequel is Tecmo Koei Games’ development team Omega-Force, which has worked on the Dynasty Warriors series and other action games. The team has created exhilarating and profound games.
The game is set in a world in which an endless battle against demons rages on, and players become warriors called mononofu who have special powers and fight against demons along with their friends to prevent the destruction of the world. In the world of Kiwami, players fight against a new threat as the commanding officer of the Utakata Village mononofu.
In addition to the gameplay elements of Toukiden, Toukiden: Kiwami will also feature large amounts of new content including charming new characters, a story set in Utakata Village three months after the events of the previous game, new unique weapon types, and more. The exhilarating ability to slice off different demon body parts will also be powered up even more. Similarly to the last game, it will also support cooperative play with up to four players. In addition to being able to play the PS Vita and PSP versions via crossplay and ad-hoc mode, players in Japan can also use the infrastructure mode to fight alongside other mononofu around the country, allowing players to fight against the strongest of demons with everyone.
Fans will also be happy about “inheritance bonuses” given while progressing through the game. Save data from Toukiden and the game’s “The Best” version to release on June 5 will also carry over to Toukiden: Kiwami.
Also, continuing on from the previous game, Studio 4℃ is creating a promotional anime. Enjoy through the video the world of Toukiden: Kiwami as mononofu fight against demons.
In addition, an action demo of the game that will be available in Japan on June 5 has been announced along with a limited edition “Toukiden: Kiwami Treasure Box” and a mitama design illustration contest.
