The anime adaptation of Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii, a fantasy romance manga currently serialized in Hana to Yume (Hakusensha), will begin broadcasting on Nippon TV and other networks on April 5. On March 15, the official site of the anime reopened. At the same time, information on the theme songs and additional cast was announced.
Many talented veterans have been appointed to the cast. Narrating the story is Chisa Yokoyama of the Sakura Wars series. Playing Sheila, the mother of the Sun King, Livius I, is Keiko Han, who played Lalah Sune in Mobile Suit Gundam, and playing his father Baldo is Takahiro Sakurai, who has played in The Hired Gun and Dog & Scissors.
Six characters original to the anime––three royal advisors and three female courtiers––have also been announced. On the royal advisor side, Shūichi Ikeda, the voice of Char Aznable in Mobile Suit Gundam, is playing Vōdan, Issei Futumata of Maison Ikkoku fame is playing Catesby, and Kōsei Tomita of Tensai Bakabon fame is playing Ratcliff. On the female courtier side, Ruriko Aoki is playing Ranra, Mizue Ohtsuka is playing Sūnya, and Uki Satake is playing Mikia. We wonder what kind of negotiations there will be between these three and main female character Nike who is being played by Rena Maeda. The seiyū cast is full of members who will attract attention.
Joanna Koike’s “Beautiful World” has been chosen as the opening theme, and Rena Maeda’s “Promise” for the ending theme. Maeda is also singing the insert song “Amefurashi no Uta - Beautiful Rain” as Nike. Through her performance as Nike, a singer who can invite the rain with her voice, both sides of her singing voice will be expressed.
