The Nico Nico Douga event Nico Nico Cho Kaigi 3 will be held on April 26 and 27 at Makuhari Messe. Beginning in 2012, the event is a large-scale project which more than 100,000 people attended last year. Details about the events and areas planned for Nico Nico Cho Kaigi 3 have been announced. This year as well, there is a full lineup of widely diverse events in store.
Likely to draw particular attention from anime fans is the new “Super Anime Area.” This area will realistically recreate the worlds of popular series. There will also be stage events such as with character shows. In the Attack on Titan corner will be an event to try out the anti-Titan combat item, the 3D Maneuver Gear. In the To Love-Ru Darkness corner will be a shameless 3D attraction in which attendees can enjoy experiencing the world of the series through the eyes of protagonist Rito using the newest VR technology.
There will also be a talk show with Chika Anzai, the voice of Chaika, Yūko Hara, the voice of Akari, and Iori Nomizu, the opening theme artist, from the forthcoming TV anime Hitsugi no Chaika to begin broadcasting in April. The lineup of talked-about series in addition to the aforementioned also includes Kantai Collection - Kan Colle, Mekaku City Actors, HappinessCharge PreCure!, The Idolmaster, Kamen Rider Gaim, and Kindan Nama Radio.
All types of works new and old, digital and analog will be gathered in the “Super Game Area,” which many attendees frequented during last year’s event. In addition to the next gen system Xbox One and the national game Dragon Quest, there will be a large increase in the amount of booths offering demos of Cho-Daifugo and other analog games, arcade games, smartphone games, and indie games.
At the “Super Music Festival 2014” will be performances by a number of artists who have worked on anime theme songs including Hironobu Kageyama, Eir Aoi, and Sumire Uesaka. This as well is not to be missed.
In Nico Nico fashion, there will also be many genre-crossing displays. From the space flight research and development organization JAXA will be a “Super Space Booth” and “Super Giant Isopod Booth” that looks at the mysterious deep-sea creatures, and from Aderans will be a look at producing Final Fantasy wigs. The professional sumo tournament “Super Conference Sumo Tournament” is likely also to be a hit. In all, the lineup features many events indicative of Nico Nico Douga.
