Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion released in theaters nationwide in Japan on Oct. 26 and is already a big hit. To match up with this release, many tie-in projects and new products are being announced in succession. Among these, new projects from the world of confections have even been announced.
The first is the “Puella Magi Madoka Magica ARTismCHOCO” being sold exclusively on Premium Bandai. Even though this won’t release until February 2014, it will arrive just in time for Valentine’s Day. Pre-orders have already begun, so get it for the one you love. The price of the chocolate is ￥2,625 (tax included) and it includes two circular chocolates and eight square chocolates for a total of 10 in a designed box that conveys the world of Madoka Magica. The artistic drawing shows off the characteristic world in a line art style. The design features Madoka and Homura. There is no doubt that this design will bring to mind for people who have seen the movie their favorite parts.
Other similar products were also announced on Nov. 12. These two shokugan (items that come with candy) products are “Puella Magi Madoka Magica Wafers Vol. 5” and “Madoka Magica the Movie Magical Girls and Mascots.”
“Puella Magi Madoka Magica Wafers Vol. 5” is the newest in the popular wafer product line. These vanilla cream flavored wafers come with a gorgeous metallic placard. The lineup also includes the key visual to Rebellion and other characteristic and beautiful illustrations.
The “Madoka Magica the Movie Magical Girls and Mascots” combine items shown in the movie with characters. These items are Soul Gems and Grief Seeds. The characters also appear cutely deformed. There are six different kinds in total including Madoka Kaname and Homura Akemi. In addition to these, there is also a secret version of Homura.
