“Battle” Visual Book Queen's Blade: The Live: Pirate Captain Liliana - Ayaka Sayama Edition Sale Event Begins

This book is a collaboration with the popular gravure idol visual book series! In Akihabara's Shosen Tower on Oct. 19, an event to celebrate the release of the “battle” visual book Queen's Blade: The Live: Pirate Captain Liliana - Ayaka Sayama Edition was held.

Queen's Blade is an illustrated competitive game book series 1. It is the Japanese version of the game book series Lost World from America's Flying Buffalo Publishing. The books include illustrations based on the original works redone by Japanese illustrators and animators. The series has gained a lot of support and released comics, figurines, novels, and other related products.

This photo collection will be the third one based on the series. The first installment was Queen’s Blade: The Live: Infernal Temptress Airi - Yuri Morishita Edition and the second, Queen’s Blade: The Live: Darkmaster in Wonderland Alicia - Vanessa Pan Edition. This installment features some cosplay gravure photos of Ayaka Sayama in place of female character illustrations. The collection is still functional as a game book, and features many of the same sexy poses as the original Queen's Blade series.

Ayaka Sayama plays the part of Pirate Captain Liliana, the legendary leader of a pirate ghost ship. Legend has it that she once ruled the continents as a notorious pirate until she was attacked by the monstrous Kraken and assumed to be lost at sea. However, she was brought back by a swamp witch and became her apprentice. She admired the pirate Artemis, whom she considered her grandmother, and was devoted to aesthetics. She has an air of elegance. She'll stop at nothing to reach her goals, but is not entirely evil, as she still shows respect for her elders. The swamp witch granted her the ability to captain her flying ship and control its ghostly crew (The anime does not tell the story of her becoming the swamp witch's apprentice.). Sayama, who plays the part of Liliana, expressed excitement about her role, saying it was the "first time she has ever done a genuine cosplay performance."

Hobby Japan is selling the photo collection in Japan. According to them, this collection is notable for its "genuine recreation of the anime, made possible through a collaboration with a famous gravure idol.” Also, “the decision to choose well-known cameraman Yuki Aoyama means that the quality of the photographs is very high." The "Pirate Girl Complex" gravure photo shoot at the end of the book, as well as the included special "Big Pirate Treasure DVD" also make this collection worthy of attention.

At 4:00 p.m., just before the event began, fans were waiting in large numbers in front of the venue. Many were holding the photo collection in their arms, having just purchased it at a nearby register. What's that? You'd like one too? ^1^ Queen's Blade is a turn-based game. To compete, players swap books with their opponent. Players then choose from a list of choices inside the book and go to the corresponding page. The amount of damage done, misses, and what happens to each player is decided based on the illustration and instructions on each page. The game continues until one of the player's HP value reaches 0.

^2^ Debuted as a gravure idol in 2009. She has since made a name for herself as "Japan's cutest high school girl." She made her acting debut in 2010 in the Fuji TV drama GTO. She is also a poster girl for sweets maker Dororich, and is therefore also known as one of the "Dororich girls."
