Doraemon and Perman Take Over Tokyo Tower at Fujiko F. Fujio Exhibit!

From July 19 to Oct. 6, the Fujiko F. Fujio Exhibit is being held on the fourth floor of Tokyo Tower’s Foot Town. The event is being held in commemoration of the late Fujiko’s would-be 80th birthday. Thus, an enjoyable highlight of the exhibit is the 80 life-size Doraemon statues with various expressions that are on display. The exhibit has achieved over 150,000 visitors and expresses fans great interest in Doraemon 1 and Kiteretsu Daihyakka 2. We went to Tokyo Tower to check out the exhibit ourselves!

A great number of rare, original art by Fujiko F. Fujio is on display. The exhibit also features the classic monochrome anime Obake no Q-tarō and the manga Shotaiyō, written together with Fujiko A. Fujio. The story is a rare gem due to the team’s skilled penmanship and its youthful story.

Additionally, fans can experience Japan’s first indoor 4D project mapping of Sukoshi Fushigi, take a photograph as if they are in one of the scenes at “Narikiri Character Plaza,” and browse numerous fun booths. Furthermore, Fujiko F. Fujio books, original goods, and food are on sale. Many items are so popular that they have already sold out.

Fujiko F. Fujio Exhibit

^1^ Fujiko F. Fujio manga. The story is of the adventures and friendship between elementary schooler Nobi Nobita and Doraemon, robotic cat from the 22nd century.

^2^ This was a comical manga. Kiteretsu, an elementary student with a fascination for inventions, creates various inventions, and trouble, with the help of the book “Kiteretsu Daihyakka” which his ancestor Kiteretsu-sai wrote.
