On March 17, the cosplay fashion show “CureCosplayCollection” was held at Animate in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. Many young and energetic cosplayers came together, and a splendid performance of cosplay unfolded.
CureCosplayCollection began as an experiment in 2009. In Japan and abroad, many manga and anime fans hold popular cosplay events. In comparison to other countries, up until now, Japan has had fewer cosplay stage performances. CureCosplayCollection conveys the enjoyment of cosplay to a larger number of people. So far, they have held stage performances at various events, including the World Cosplay Summit and Tokyo Game Show.
The cosplay fashion show on March 17 was a collaboration between Cosplay Review Stage and Animate. From here on, they have their eyes set on holding a new event every month. In addition to otaku culture, CureCosplayCollection may become popular in the world of fashion as a new culture scene in Ikebukuro.
