Essence of Katana Brought Eva to New Stage - Eva and Japanese Swords [3/3]

The spin-off novel "Evangelion ANIMA" is the only official contents that tells the story after episode #24 of original TV series. It's still going on in monthly "Dengeki Hobby Magazine" since January 2008, but now at very final chapter. And (I hope this is not a spoiler... but just keep between us) you will see the Magoroku Sword in a trailer on big screen after you completely enjoyed the latest movie "EVANGELION:3.0 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO."

In the story Seele replaced the hands of Eva-01to bigger parts to prohibit the use of firearms. Then Eva-01 can't pull the trigger, so Eva-01 must fight with swords. This new situation makes Eva to fight much closer than before. Eva cuts AT field by the blade of special sword. Story goes more tough, more exciting, and more heroic.

Ikuto Yamashita, author of the novel and also the mechanical designer of Eva series, says about the "merge" of both worldview in movie and novel. So in the next (and may be the last) movie, we could see Eva units fighting with their various of swords. Off course nobody can tell about this, but I hope so!

Well, here are some more photos of smaller swords inspired from the novel. They are not replicas for now. But in near future we may see them in next movie... don't you want to?

The museum usually shows about historical Japanese swords. But Eva fits this place very well. How you think about: Is that funny or reasonable?
