Upcoming live action film Bungo Stray Dogs the Movie: Beast will premiere on January 7, 2022!
The film will star actors from the stage play adaptations, including Shohei Hashimoto as Ryunosuke Akutagawa and Yuki Torigoe as Atsushi Nakajima.
Koichi Sakamoto will direct the film with a script by Kafka Asagiri, the author of the original light novel series.
Bungo Stray Dogs follows a crime-solving group known as the Armed Detective Agency, most of whom have special powers and are named after significant literary figures.
Bungo Stray Dogs the Movie: Beast is adapted from an existing novel that explores a what-if scenario where the agencies that Ryunosuke Akutagawa and Atsushi Nakagawa belong to are reversed.
The franchise's first two TV anime seasons aired in 2016, with a third season following in 2019. It also received an anime film titled Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple in 2018.
Bungo Stray Dogs the Movie: Beast will open in Japan on January 7, 2022.
