Upcoming magical girl anime Tokyo Mew Mew New has revealed the voices and battle costumes of its main characters through a new key visual and teaser trailer!
The voice actresses featured in the trailer are Temma Yuuki as Momomiya Ichigo, Hinata Mirai as Aizawa Mint, Juni Ryoko as Midorikawa Lettuce, Toda Rian as Fong Purin, and Ishii Momoka as Fujiwara Zakuro. The five also form the music unit Smewthie, the artist for the theme song "bitter sweet darling," which is also featured in the new trailer.
Originally a manga written by Reiko Yoshida and illustrated by Mia Ikumi, Tokyo Mew Mew follows five magical girls known as Mew Mews, who are each infused with the DNA of endangered animals.
The original manga was serialized in shojo manga magazine Nakayoshi from 2000 to 2003, with a TV anime adaptation airing from 2002 to 2003. Announced in 2020, Tokyo Mew Mew New is a completely new anime project that marks the franchise's 20th anniversary.
Tokyo Mew Mew New is slated to air in 2022.
