Touken Ranbu is returning to the stage for 2019 with a brand new musical, Touken Ranbu Higekiri Hizamaru Souki Shutsujin 2019, to be performed in Shinagawa this July.
The poster released for the upcoming show features the two starring Touken Danshi played by Miura Hiroki (Higekiri) and Takano Akira (Hizamaru).
The musical series is inspired by Touken Ranbu -Online-, a massively popular simulation game in which players collect famous swords that have been turned into handsome warriors called Touken Danshi. Since its release in 2015, more than two million users have registered, and it has been adapted into everything from anime, stage plays, and live action movies.
Touken Ranbu Higekiri Hizamaru Souki Shutsujin 2019 runs at Stellar Ball, Prince Hotel Shinagawa from Jul. 4 to 14, 2019.
