The second three-part live action drama series based on Sorachi Hideaki's popular manga, Gintama 2 - Yo nimo Kimyouna Gintama-chan, will be available for streaming via dTV from Aug. 18.
The web drama's official Twitter has announced a cameo appearance from Maetel, the heroine of Matsumoto Leiji’s classic manga Galaxy Express 999. Actress Yamamoto Mizuki, who previously played the role for director Fukuda Yuichi in TV drama Aoi Honoo, is featured in the just released key visual. She is depicted dressed in Maetal’s iconic outfit with the heroine’s trademark mysterious expression.
The drama will consist of three episodes, the first titled Nemurenai Aru, focussing on Kagura (Hashimoto Kanna) and Gintoki (Oguri Shun), the second Hijkata Kinen, starring "Demon Vice Commander" Hijikata Toushirou, and the third Ikutsu ni Nattemo Haisha wa Iya, featuring Gintoki and Hijikata's visit to the dentist.
Gintama 2 - Yo nimo Kimyouna Gintama-chan will be available to stream on dTV from Aug. 18. Live action film Gintama 2: Okite wa Yaburu Tame ni Koso Aru will premiere at cinemas across Japan on Aug. 17.
