Celebrate Meat Day with a Slice of Beefcake at Gyu-Kaku!

Japanese “yakiniku” barbecue restaurant Gyu-Kaku is the perfect place to celebrate “meat day” which takes place on March 29 in honour of the fact that the Japanese for meat is “niku”, also a way to pronounce 2-9. Knowing how much their customers love their meat, the store has come up an amusing way to celebrate by building a romantic cake out of slices of raw meat carnivorous diners can enjoy throwing on the barbecue.

The celebration meat cakes have been available as a part of the regular menu at every Gyu-Kaku branch since March 8 retailing for 4980 yen and include some of the best cuts of meat the restaurant has to offer including “Galbi” Korean-style ribs, Wagyu misuji, and special top grade Wagyu Galbi.

If that’s a little rich for your blood, diners can also opt for the smaller meat “bouquet” which comes with around 260g of meat for 2680 yen.

The good news is that in celebration of meat day, meat lovers will be able to enjoy all you can eat meat 290 yen for 29 items or the 2.9kg meat challenge at Gyu-kaku branches throughout Japan!

Last year the event proved so popular that restaurants were completely booked out as soon as they began taking reservations so this year Gyu-Kaku has made sure there is plenty of room for its meat hungry guests. The 4980 yen meat cake package will also be available for the special celebratory price of 290 yen to one very lucky group of diners at each restaurant.

Diners in Japan up for a meaty challenge have until March 26 at 11:59pm to make a reservation via the official website.
