“Assassination Classroom: Gradation” Premiering March 25, 2016 with Performances by Kazunari Ninomiya, Mirei Kiritani, and Hiroki Narimiya

The release date for the sequel to the film Assassination Classroom, Assassination Classroom: Graduation, has been set. Its nationwide road show will begin on March 25, 2016.

It has also been revealed that the cast includes Kazunari Ninomiya as the God of Death, an assassin with a sad past; the original Class 3-E homeroom teacher, Aguri Yukimura, by Mirei Kiritani; and the scientist that turned the God of Death into the octopus-shaped superhuman Koro-sensei, Koutarou Yanagisawa, by Hiroki Narimiya. The wonderful cast, increasing from the previous work, is sure to be a hot topic.

All of the members from the previous work, beginning with Ryosuke Yamada, performing as protagonist Nagisa Shiota, and Masaki Suda, playing Karuma Akabane, will return for Assassination Classroom: Graduation. Ninomiya, again in charge of Koro-sensei’s voice, also appeared in photographs as the God of Death. The mystery surrounding Koro-sensei will finally be on screen.

Ninomiya will be performing in a flashback related to the cause behind the professional killer known as the “God of Death” becoming Koro-sensei. The God of Death and Aguri connect as the object of experimentation and an observer, forming a mutual attraction. This bittersweet love story performed by Ninomiya and Kiritani is a must-see. They’re torn apart, however, by trouble caused by Yanagisawa’s research. You can also look forward to the enthusiastic performance of that key person by Narimiya.

Yusei Matsui, the author of the original work, is also tied to this work as a supervisor. He commented, “Firstly, I was wonderfully surprised that this movie could be made with the cast of the previous work.” Matsui then praised, “Ninomiya’s casting was decided before visuals were considered, so I thought that the movie would be made without following the original work, but on the contrary, when I entered and saw the scenes, they were very close to the manga. I can’t imagine anyone else in place of the person in the God of Death photos.”

There were also impressive visuals of the new cast, with Kiritani in a unique T-shirt and white lab coat, and Narimiya in a mad scientist-like pose. Assassination Classroom: Graduation opens to the public on March 25.

[Cast Comments]
Kazunari Ninomiya (God of Death)
“There were a lot of things to be happy about with this work, including the happiness that Assassination Classroom received a sequel, that I would get to participate, and that this time I’d also have the opportunity to appear in a photograph. It was a short time, but I faced the film shooting communicating with the director, Hasumi, consulting him about what I was thinking and feeling while trying to not be unfaithful to the original work. Working on an action scene for the first time in five years, since Gantz, was also a highlight. I’m looking forward to the opening as a fan, as well, so I hope we’ll all enjoy it together.”

Mirei Kiritani (Aguri Yukimura)
“Aguri’s slightly unusual western-style clothes which also appear in the original work are perfectly recreated! My favorite is the “Pyramid Power,” haha. Please look forward to it, everyone(^ ^). I hope everyone watches Aguri’s slight airheadedness and sincere determination, as well as her and the God of Death’s painful fate closely!

Hiroki Narimiya (Koutarou Yanagisawa)
“For me, this was a year of wanting to take on a variety of challenges as an actor, so when I read the script for a character named “Yanagisawa” from a work called Assassination Classroom, I immediately wanted to do it. Meeting Ninomiya again in the wonderful “Hasumi Class” is a prize for a long-time actor. Yanagisawa is too smart, a sad character who goes astray, and I think his strange attachment to Koro-sensei and his own warped sense of justice were presented well, so I hope you’ll look forward to this completion.”
