A world championship is on the way for the Yu-Gi-Oh! series, which will welcome its 20th anniversary next year, and details have been revealed. The Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2015 will be held at the Kyoto International Conference Center on Aug. 15 and 16. Two members of the cast, Shunsuke Kazama and Kenjiro Tsuda, will make stage appearances at the event.
Shunsuke will play Yugi Muto and Kenjiro Seto Kaiba in the new movie Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions. The movie recently made headlines with a confirmed 2016 Golden Week release. Series creator Kazuki Takahashi is acting as writer, character designer, and executive producer on the movie. A visual drawn by Takahashi and a teaser have also been revealed.
The visual to Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions depicts main character Yugi Muto, his rival Seto Kaiba, and a mysterious character. Also furnished with the catch phrase “Once more to the dueling stage,” the visual stirs up anticipation for this all-new original story that takes place after the original series.
The trailer shows, in addition to a duel scene between Yugi and Kaiba, familiar characters Katsuya Jonouchi and Ryo Bakura as well. The details on the story are yet to be revealed, so make sure to not miss any of the follow-up reports.
A special stage show will also be held during the public day of the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2015 on Aug. 16. On stage will be Shunsuke Kazama and Kenjiro Tsuda. With the event coming just before the release of the movie, it seems the audience will get to hear their thoughts on it and more. Those in the audience will receive a present “Black Magician” Yu-Gi-Oh! card exclusive to the event. This specially made card written in English will likely become a popular item for fans.
A commercial shoot will also be held at the venue. A pleasent project for fans, those who participate in this will have their names listed in the end credits of the movie.
