What the Heck is “Cup no Fuchiko”?

It’s not a strap, nor it is a magnet. A new type of figure called “Cup no Fuchiko” is booming in Japan.

The cuteness of “Cup no Fuchiko” is manifested when she is placed on a cup. She can sit quietly, try to climb the cup with all her strength, or hang from the cup as if she is exhausted. Looking at her just naturally soothes your heart.

“Cup no Fuchiko” was planned and designed by manga artist Katsuki Tanaka. She was born into the world as a capsule toy, and in the blink of an eye, she became a big hit with 1.3 million being sold. It seems there are many in Japan who want to be soothed by this tiny girl.

There are seven variations altogether, including a slightly sexy Fuchiko and Fuchiko holding a lemon. All of them are very cute.

Do you want to spend your morning coffee time with Fuchiko to soothe your heart?
