Summary

Aoyama is a handsome young soccer genius whom is about to change everything you know about soccer! His signature playing style is “cleanliness”-- and everything he does, from running to passing to scoring, is based on his “clean” style of playing- evading other competitors as if he’s wrapped in protective layer of bubblewrap. You’ll never see him tackling another player, sliding a kick along the dirt, or heading a ball. In fact, if he’s ever doing a throw-in, you’d be amazed to find him not wearing a pair of gloves while he does so!
The good news for his team? He hates losing more than getting a little dirty.

Background

This sports-comedy was written by Taku Sakamoto. It started serialization in Shueisha’s Miracle Jump in 2014, and was switched to Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump in 2015. The continuing serialization of the manga was announced at the same time as the Anime adaptation in Jan. 2017, with the 7th volume being published in Feb. 2017. The Anime will premiere on July 2nd, 2017.

Broadcast Information

The anime is set to premiere on Tokyo MX on July 2 at 24:00 (effective July 3 at 12:00 a.m.), and will then air on Yomiuri TV and BS11. The opening theme, appropriately entitled “White” (symbolizing Aoyama-kun’s cleanliness), will be performed by Japanese Pop-rock group, Bentham. Be sure to bring your cleaning tools to the debut party!

Main Characters

Aoyama-kun

Aoyama-kun is the undoubtedly interesting protagonist! It is now his first year of high school, and he dons the #10 jersey as the ace of the Fujimi High School soccer team. He’s not your everyday soccer player, though! He has an almost OCD-level obsession with cleanliness; therefore, he refuses to do common (dirtier) tasks of soccer such as heading the ball or sliding. Though, don’t be quick to judge- as this obsession has not put a damper on his skills. His prowess is so great that he became the U-16 representative midfielder for Japan.
But for a certain reason, he attends Fujimi High School.

Kaoru Zaizen

Kaoru Zaizen is a second-year student at Fujimi High School and he is the passionate forward of the soccer team. He was wearing the #10 jersey before Aoyama joined the team. At first he thought Aoyama-kun was creepy, but gradually approved of him once he saw the hidden passion that Aoyama has. He's the eldest son of the Zaizen conglomerate, and his father dotes on and spoils him.

Moka Gotō

Moka Gotō is a mysterious first-year student at Fujimi High School, who hasn’t joined any club. She talked to Aoyama once in elementary school, but he's already forgotten her. She carries around a spiked bat with a floral pattern on it as her trademark.
