18if

General Information

18if is a TV anime developed by Koji Morimoto and Gonzo. Previously titled “18 Anime”, the show is part of a wider multimedia project, “The Art of 18”, which also includes the RPG smartphone game “18: Kimi to Tsunagaru Puzzle” (known as “18: Dream World” in English) available for iOS and Android devices. 18if airs on Tokyo MX and BS Fuji from July 2017. The opening theme is produced by TeddyLoid with lyrics by Yuho Iwasato and performed by countertenor Yoshikazu Mera.

Story

The story follows Haruto Tsukishiro who accidentally gets swallowed up by someone else’s dream. Whilst in the strange dream world he meets a series of witches who captures his heart and becomes lost in their collective dreamscape. All the time looking for a way out, Haruto eventually begins talking to some of the sleeping beauties he meets along the way.

Characters

Haruto Tsukishiro (CV. Nobunaga Shimazaki)

A young man who gets lost in a dream world where he meets a mysterious girl called Lily, finds out about the existence of the witches, and gets caught up in various strange events.

Katsumi Kanzaki (CV. Takehito Koyasu)

A scientist who conducts research into the dream world and is known to Haruto as “the professor”. Kanzaki is trying to solve the mystery of the sleeping girls and takes an interest in Haruto due to his ability to see Lily, eventually pulling him into his research. The professor’s default setting is messy hair, a lab coat, and sandals but his “Diver” form is an elegant black cat.

Lily (CV Kaori Nazuka)

Lily is the mysterious girl who appears in Haruto’s dreams whom only he can see. Appearing at random, Lily has taken to calling Haruto “big brother”.
