Teaser Video| Anime Film: Kimi no Na wa

Director Makoto Shinkai’s newest anime film is slated to be released in August of 2016 and is titled “Kimi no Na wa”, or “your name.” in english. The film will feature a stellar staff, including Masashi Ando (Spirited Away, When Marnie Was There, Paprika) as the animation director and Masayoshi Tanaka (anohana, The Anthem of the Heart, Toradora!) as a character designer. The film will be produced by CoMix Wave Inc., which also produced his previous film The Garden of Words.

Official sources describe the plot as a "story of miracles and love", revolving around Mitsuha, a female high school student who lives in a rural town deep in the country-side, and Taki, a city boy who resides in central Tokyo. Their miraculous tale begins when they start appearing mysteriously in each other’s dreams, sparking their curiosity about each other and setting the story in motion. Though the teaser itself does not show much content wise, Shinkai’s trademark use of color and motion and the resulting breathtakingly beautiful visuals only leave viewers starving for more.
