  • I'm Off~!

This is an illustration of my site’s mascot girl, Sora Aoi, that I drew for use in a doujinshi. Because this is set in a neighborhood modeled after the Yaeyama Islands of Japan, the scenery has Ryukyu-like designs. This illustration shows a scene of her leaving in the morning to go to school. The girl in the background is her childhood friend who is older than her and the boy is her younger brother.

  • I’ve Always Known My Mascot Girl Could Be This Cute - Continuation

This is an illustration of my site’s mascot girl, Sora Aoi, that I used as a promotional poster when I created my doujinshi. The title is actually a parody of a certain Japanese light novel series. Though she is actually lying down, I flipped it to this orientation because I thought it was interesting. Because it has the setting of a badminton club, she is holding a badminton racket.

  • Sora Aoi’s Ninth Anniversary

I drew this for the ninth anniversary of my mascot girl, Sora Aoi. The outfit she is often wearing in my illustrations is called a “tracksuit” in Japan, and boy and girls wear similar outfits when they exercise at school, though the designs differ from school to school. Those overseas may not be very familiar with them, so this may be an outfit that is unique to Japan.

    Q&A

How did you get into drawing?

I have been drawing as long as I can remember since I was young. Though, I used to just copy anime and manga.

What are you particular about in your work?

“Liveliness” is a constant theme. I focus on drawing illustrations that will energize those who see them. After that is my intention of drawing in such a way that a story and the character’s personality can be felt from the picture.

How long does your work take to create?

    Generally about 2-3 days.

When do you come up with ideas for your work?

Other than art, I am struck with inspiration when I am enjoying other works like films and music, when I’m taking a walk, when I’m sleeping, and various other times.
