J-World Tokyo, a theme park that uses works from Weekly Shonen Jump, will open in Ikebukuro, Tokyo on July 11. In addition to attractions themed around Naruto, One Piece, and Dragon Ball, the theme park will feature a “Heroes Arena” where attendees can enjoy mini attractions of characters from other popular works, a food court called “J-World Kitchen,” an “Amusement Arena” where attendees can win items related to Jump works, a “J-World Store” where fans can buy original merchandise, and more.
The theme park, which is being managed by Bandai Namco Group, will be located on the third floor of Sunshine City’s World Import Mart. Admission will cost 1,300 yen for adults (high school students and older) and 1,000 yen for children (4 years of age and older). Hours of operation for the park will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
There will be five attractions at J-World Tokyo themed after Naruto, One Piece, and Dragon Ball.
The One Piece attractions will include the “Soldier Dock Adventure” (800 yen), a ride attraction where fans can ride the Mini Merry I and the Shark Submerge III and experience the world of One Piece with a video displayed on a gigantic screen, and the “Carousel of White Horses” (400 yen), a carousel themed after the Straw Hat Pirates.
The Naruto attraction will be a walk-through type called “Fierce Combat! Picture Scroll of the Ninja World Great Battle!!” (800 yen). In this attraction, fans can become a Konoha ninja and challenge themselves to a mission within a maze.
Two attractions will be themed after Dragon Ball. One is called “Let’s Grab Them! Dragon Balls!!” (800 yen) and will consist of fans using a “Dragon Reader” to locate hidden Dragon Balls. In the other, called “Let’s Fire it! Kamehameha!!” (800 yen), fans will be able to experience firing off a Kamehameha along with Goku in an interactive 3D video.
Aside from the attractions, collaborative food will be offered at J-World Tokyo themed after works such as Gintama.
