The sixth episode from the series Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, titled “Two Worlds, Two Tomorrows”, will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on Mar. 22. Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn was a largely talked about OVA series created three years after the anime Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack.
To commemorate the episode’s release, from two weeks starting on Mar. 2, in 16 theaters across Japan, special screening events will be held. At the screenings, an advance selling of the limited edition Blu-ray of the episode will also take place. After the screenings end, the episode will be distributed for free on the PlayStationRStore, J:COM On Demand, Video Store, and Movie Splash.
The limited edition Blu-ray that will be sold at the screenings will come as a set that also includes an extra disc that features scenarios and a special film. This version will be limited to 18 thousand and will be sold for 9,000 yen. The script and cover illustration for this limited edition were created by Yasuyuki Muto and Shuko Murase respectively.
The limited edition Blu-ray that will be released on Mar. 22 will cost 8,190 yen. This version features the sixth episode (59 minutes) and several behind the scenes featurettes (120 minutes total) including a compilation of talk events called “Mobile Suit Gundam UC Film & Live 2012 Reader’s Theater ‘Hand in Hand’”, as well as the making-of and interview film for the entirely new sixth episode titled “Film & Live 2012”. The regular edition Blu-ray will cost 6,090 yen. Both versions will include Japanese and English voice work, as well as subtitles in Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin). The DVD edition will cost 5,040 yen and include Japanese and English subtitles.
Each version will also come with a sleeve illustrated by Hajime Katoki, a special booklet, the 1-5 digest videos, and the promotional video for the fifth episode.
