Animate Girls Festival 2016, the biggest female otaku event in Japan, was held on Nov. 5 and 6 and brought in more people than ever with 77,155 attendees!
The event was packed with 129 booths for anime, video games, and comics for fans to check out, as well as voice actor and cosplay events all around Ikebukuro Sunshine City!
There was also a food festival held near the main event in the Naka-Ikebukuro Park offering limited-edition collaborative food based on a number of voice actors!

Other events included a mystery game based on Dakaretai Otoko Ichii ni Odosarete Imasu., an exhibit dedicated to Animate’s 30 years of history, tons of gorgeous artwork, a special screening of King of Prism by Pretty Rhythm, and lots of cosplay!
Speaking of cosplay, there was also a special photography corner where cosplayers could have their photos taken by the professional cameraman One-T (Ichikawa Tomoya)!
