New Clips for Ghost in the Shell Live-Action Adaptation Released!

The Hollywood film adaptation of Shirow Masamune’s cyberpunk sci-fi series Ghost in the Shell will be opening in May 2015, and we finally get to see more of it!

Five clips from the highly anticipated movie have been revealed. Each is between 10 and 15 seconds, and while they’re quite short, they’re still managing to stir up a lot of excitement. You can see the clips below.

People have been especially curious about casting, and it was revealed last year that Scarlett Johansson would be playing protagonist Motoko Kusanagi. It is also known that Aramaki Daisuke will be played by Kitano Takeshi. This came out in March of 2016. Aramaki Daisuke is the founder of Public Security Section 9, a unit existing under the Ministry of Internal Affairs dedicated to protecting citizens from cyber warfare.

Kitano Takeshi is best known as a comedian, but he’s a well-respected actor, as well. His last Hollywood performance was in 1995’s JM, but he received a lot of praise for it.

The Hollywood adaptation of Ghost in the Shell doesn’t have an official website yet, but information is being released on Twitter and YouTube. We can definitely expect even more exciting information to come!
