In addition to the mayor of Kyoto, Inori Minase (a member of Sony Music Artists Inc.) appeared as a supporter alongside the members of the executive committee in a Kyo-yuzen kimono. It was announced that Minase supervised the creation of a new sweet as a part of a collaboration with the well-established Kyoto confectionery maker Shogoin Yatsuhashi Sohonten’s nikiniki shop, and everyone on stage sampled it.

The second series of collaborative visuals were also revealed: Blue Exorcist x Kiyomizu-dera and Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru x Mibu-dera.

■ Comment from Inori Minase
“I had the opportunity to work as a supporter. It’s my first time participating in Kyo-Maf, so I’m really nervous. I’m also appearing as Chidori (the protagonist) in Nobunaga no Shinobi, and I hope that this work will be exciting to everyone at Kyo-Maf. Nobunaga no Shinobi is based on historical facts, and Kyoto is a place that’s full of history, too, so I’m really excited to be able to go.”

Her appearance was like a time-slip against the scenery in her Kyo-yuzen kimono.

Minase’s masterpiece, Yatsuhashi Maiko-chan, will be on display at Kyoto International Manga Museum until Kyo-Maf ends on Sept. 18.

[Inori Minase’s Profile]
Born on Dec. 2, 1995, Minase is from Tokyo. She made her debut as a voice actress at 14 in 2010. She’s played a number of characters since then including Chino in Is the Order a Rabbit? and Jun Naruse in The Anthem of the Heart. Through her incredible yet delicate talent, she won the Best Lead Actress Award in the 10th Seiyu Awards in 2016 and the Best Rookie Voice Actor Award in the 25th Japan Movie Critics Awards. She’s also an excellent singer, making her musical debut on her 20th birthday last year with a CD. Her second single, “Harmony Ribbon,” was released this April. It took 10th place in the Oricon Weekly Charts. Her third single is planned to be released this fall, and she’s sure to continue making great strides.
