About the Orange anime series

Published by Futabasha in the manga magazine Monthly Action, Orange is a shojo/seinen sci-fi manga series written and illustrated by Ichigo Takano.

Featuring sci-fi elements in addition to that staple of romance manga, high school romance, the story of Orange revolves around a letter from the protagonist's future self, pleading with her past self to save the life of a friend who's destined to commit suicide. The story of the protagonist 10 years in the future whose hopes were dashed intertwines with the modern world to create a heartrending tale that has proved hugely influential. It took 5th place in the "Japan Bookstore Staff Top Recommended Manga 2015" list, as well as appearing in several other manga rankings, and the most recent volume (released in November 2015) soared to 1st place in the Oricon Weekly Ranking. Over 4.5 million copies of the series have been printed in total. The live action film Orange released in December 2015 was a massive hit, raking in over 3.2 billion yen at the box-office.

The unique masterpiece that is the Orange manga series is popular with guys as well as girls, and thanks to the incredibly talented team behind its creation, the anime adaptation that's currently being aired is also attracting rave reviews.
