■ About the Socks
These socks are a part of a collaboration between the anime Sailor Moon and the footwear brand Erimaki Sox. The lineup includes Sailor Moon (navy), Sailor Mercury (blue), Sailor Mars (red), Sailor Jupiter (green), and Sailor Venus (orange).
Erimaki Sox is a Japanese brand which combines the fun of dressing up with their unique sock designs which resemble shirts. Using a short white sock as its base, the Sailor Guardians’ collars and ribbons are added to complete the design. You can feel that classic Sailor Moon style from any angle! The included ribbon adds a cute pop of color, but it’s also removable. When you take it off you can also wear these as a part of a simpler look! The white goes well with sneakers, but they can also be worn with dressier shoes in colors like blue when you really want to stand out.

■ About Erimaki Sox
Erimaki Sox is a Japanese footwear brand specializing in socks that resemble shirts. The brand debuted in January 2014 and went viral after an article by journalist Misha Janette. That trend continued after international fashion bloggers including Susie Lau reported on them, as well as through popularity among Japanese talents and idols. They’re still growing in popularity and continue to be mentioned in media like TV and on the radio.
■ About Sailor Moon
A shoujo manga by Naoko Takeuchi which was first serialized in Nakayoshi in 1992. Its volumes have been translated into 17 different languages, and the anime has been broadcast in more than 40 countries, turning it into a social phenomenon. Starting in 2012, a 20th anniversary project commenced. After a long eight years, a musical was staged in September 2013, and a new one will begin this fall. The third season of Sailor Moon Crystal, Sailor Moon Crystal: Death Busters-hen, is currently airing. A complete edition of the Sailor Moon manga is also on sale, and its first fan club started on April 10. There’s no end in sight for the Pretty Sailor Guardian!
