Popular manga Yowamushi Pedal serialized in the Weekly Shounen Champion magazine will be adapted into a TV drama series starting this August! The live-action drama will be aired on Japan's BS Sukapa! channel and special programs leading up to the premiere will begin airing in July. The hit series has previously been adapted into TV anime, anime movie and stage plays.
Written by manga artist Watanabe Wataru, Yowamushi Pedal is a high school competitive cycling sports manga that first began serializing in 2008. To date, it has published 44 volumes selling over 15 million copies in total. Last year a movie adapation was a hit in the cinemas, while the third season of the TV anime will also air in 2017.
It was announced that the drama will be directed Tanazawa Takayoshi of Hanzawa Naoki and Shitamachi Rocket fame, while screenwriter Fukihara Kouta will take reign of the storyline. Are you excited to see who the cast will be?
