Performances of a musical to Sanrio’s popular character series Show By Rock!! will begin in February. The musical is titled Show By Rock!! Musical ~Tonaeru Kachikudomo! Crimson Falldown Revolution Apocalypse~. With performances drawing near, the main visuals have now been released. With a present campaign for attendees also revealed, there is a ton of must-see information for fans.
Show By Rock!! is a character project themed after bands managed by Sanrio. The project began as an app game and gained attention all at once with the broadcast of a TV anime in 2015. Bands from the project also grabbed the spotlight for ranking high in the 2015 Sanrio Character Ranking, including Shingan Crimsonz who came in second.
Show By Rock!! Musical will focus on two bands from the project: Shingan Crimsonz and Trichronika. It will feature an original story. The two groups make their entrance in a big way on the newly released main visuals.
The story begins with the two bands participating in the “King of MIDI City Live Festival,” a tournament with an enormous cash prize. Shingan Crimsonz enters the tournament looking to win the prize to pay off the large debts owned by its music label. It’s been revealed that their rivals, Trichronika, will also be participating, so we get the feeling that there will be uproarious developments. The curious story involves Shingan Crimsonz heading off to a training camp to prepare for the tournament, while a mysterious man gets close to Trichronika’s vocalist, Shu Zo. The original story for the play was written by Toko Machida who was in charge of the script and composition of the anime, and directing the musical is Saburo Fukushima.
Performances will be held from Feb. 11–16 at Zepp Blue Theater Roppongi. Those who attend the Valentine’s Day performance on Feb. 14 will receive a not-for-sale Valentine’s Day present. There will also be presents for repeat attendees, including not-for-sale items for those seeing it for the third and sixth times. Things are picking up steam as the performances approach.
