“Pokémon XY & Z” Premieres July 16, 2016; Mysterious Pokémon Volcanion Appears

Information has been announced for the newest Pokémon movie. The movie’s official title is yet to be revealed, but it will be powered up from the Pokémon XY series and will be released throughout Japan on July 16, 2016. A poster visual has also been posted. On it we can see the powerful form of the mysterious Pokémon Volcanion.

The mysterious Pokémon Volcanion is front and center on the newest poster to the movie. Volcanion is able to emit a shockwave of steam from the arm on its back and spray jets of boiling steam, so much so that it can completely change the terrain with its power. Volcanion is a Steam Pokémon, its type is Fire/Water, and it’s a heavyweight at 1.7 meters tall and 195 kilograms. It will be interesting to see how its special ability “Water Absorb” will be used in the story.

The backside of the poster features an array of cute Pokémon including fan-favorite Pikachu. It shows a scene of them playing in water. The illustration swells anticipation not just for the movie, but also for the charming short film that will screen along with it. A trailer of the movie will began screening in theaters throughout Japan on Dec. 19. It will offer a first peek at this newest movie in the series to be hitting the big screen. Don’t take your eyes off this project that raises a new curtain on the series.

The TV anime Pokémon XY & Z began broadcasting this October. The show features new Pokémon as well. The upcoming movie Pokémon the Movie XY & Z will be the 19th in the series. Kunihiko Yuyama is continuing his work on the series as the movie’s director.
