What is Cho Kido Gaiku: Kashiwa no Ha?

Setting Photograph

Cho Kido Gaiku: Kashiwa no Ha is a 3-part short film set in the future in the “Kashiwa no Ha Smart City,” materialized as an experiment by the city.

The work is developed on the image of a peculiar town that expresses the connections among its local characters through its apartment complexes based on actual buildings that transform into robots at a time when a “family of four is considering purchasing an apartment” and the “feelings of the residents” become synchronized as one.

1st Block Machine modeled after Park City Kashiwa no Ha Campus 1st Block

1st Block Machine, modeled after Park City Kashiwa no Ha Campus 1st Block, is a large robot established based on solving various issues around the neighborhood.

That sentiment of having daydreamed, “What if our block was a robot?” is splendidly realized through the townscape and high-quality 3DCG.

This work is also linked with a comic being worked on by manga artist Aya Fumio. Chapter 1 was distributed along with the clip on Oct. 1, and Chapter 2 will be distributed on the 8 (Thurs.).
